1Departure from Barèges
  • Take the metal footbridge (Avenue Louvois) to cross the Gave du Bastan.
Follow the footpath to the left and, at the first junction, keep to the path on the right (the ‘trait nature’ introductory drawing trail).
Continue along this gentle, level forest path.

2Arrioulets Balcony
  • Carry on straight ahead towards Saint-Justin; further on, there’s a lovely viewpoint as the road winds its way along the Arrioulets in a balcony-like formation.

3Towards Saint-Justin
  • Leave the path coming from the right.
Walk straight on for another 200 metres to reach the site of Saint-Justin.

4Saint-Justin Viewpoint
  • At the Petit Col de Saint-Justin (1,260 m), on your left, stop to admire the surrounding peaks; there is an information board and the Oratory of Saint-Justin.

5Arrival
  • The return journey follows the same route.

It is recommended that you use the services of a mountain professional (guide or leader) when hiking this summer route (to be undertaken when there is no snow).
