As free as a bird

Get ready for an exhilarating experience where adrenaline and nature come together!

Try bungee jumping for an unforgettable freefall, followed by a spectacular zip line ride over breathtaking scenery, then test your balance on a Nepalese suspension bridge. Carry on with a via ferrata – a cross between hiking and climbing – or a climbing session to reach exceptional viewpoints. And to round it all off in style, soar over the mountains on a paraglider for a feeling of total freedom.

Get kitted out: the playground awaits!

What challenge will you set yourself? 4 activities to try!

Have a go on the zip line!

Only the 16 giant zip lines and 4 Nepalese suspension bridges allow you to soar over the turquoise eddies of the Gave on France’s longest course, guaranteeing 2 km of extreme, weightless thrills! The site is idyllic and changes with the seasons, offering a spectacular experience in both summer and winter.

This activity is available to anyone aged 10 or over and at least 1.35m tall.

Hold on tight to the trees!

The En Chêne et Frêne treetop adventure park offers a range of unique activities. Treetop adventure is an outdoor activity that involves moving from tree to tree using rope bridges, zip lines, nets and other suspended obstacles.

Suitable for children aged 4 and over.

Cross the footbridge!

After climbing the via ferrata beneath the Napoleon Bridge, carry on with a zip line and a Nepalese suspension bridge to cross the Gave de Pau! Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of breathtaking, lush countryside.

A complete adventure, to be experienced only with a guide.

In summer

Are you thinking of going paragliding this summer?

The Luz Ardiden and Col du Tourmalet areas are superb paragliding spots once the weather turns fine: the sun warms the air nicely, creating excellent thermal updrafts that are perfect for long flights and making the most of the scenery.

Flights from June to October.

In winter

In winter, Luz Ardiden becomes a real paradise for mountain sports enthusiasts. The resort is renowned for its often stable flying conditions, set against breathtaking snow-covered landscapes. Paragliding straight from the slopes is the icing on the cake!

It’s also possible to fly without skis.
Take-off is available from three designated high-altitude launch sites.

Learn to paraglide

Do you dream of flying in complete freedom? On a paragliding course, discover unique sensations and learn to fly safely alongside passionate instructors. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, build your confidence, hone your technique and enjoy unforgettable moments in the air.

A range of course options are available.

Via Ferrata from Coumely

A superb via ferrata situated 3 km before the village of Gavarnie, at the Chaos de Coumély. This rather challenging route offers a magnificent view over the Gavarnie Valley and its high peaks. The highlight of the route: the dizzying rope bridge!

Free access subject to weather conditions (accompaniment by a guide strongly recommended)
Difficulty: very difficult (TD to TD+).
Length of the via ferrata: 400 m
Elevation gain: 180 m.
Duration: between 2 and 4 hours (depending on how busy it is).

Always check the conditions before setting out.

Climbing under the Napoleon Bridge

Tucked away beneath the arch of the Pont Napoléon, there are 15 climbing routes graded from 6a to 8a+, with an approximate height of 40 metres. Follow the path once taken by Empress Eugénie to reach the start of the route.

Between 10 and 25 routes, ranging from 6b to 8a.

The crags are freely accessible to all, but this remains a dangerous activity requiring appropriate preparation in terms of equipment, technique and knowledge of the sport.

Get in touch with a local guide who can advise you and/or accompany you.

Bungee jumping

This unique experience combines fear, excitement and absolute freedom. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or simply curious, bungee jumping promises an unforgettable experience and an incredible burst of energy. Don’t wait any longer – book your jump today and experience the adventure that will change the way you look at heights!

Pendulum jump

A major new attraction this year. The pendulum jump offers the ultimate thrill of freedom and adrenaline! Imagine yourself suspended several tens of metres in the air, ready to launch yourself into a spectacular jump that will send you swinging round and round like a giant pendulum.

OTHER CLIMBING SITES Climbing and mountaineering

Other well-known and renowned natural sites such as Gavarnie – and in particular ‘the classic Mur de la Cascade route’ – as well as smaller cliffs such as those at Château Sainte-Marie in Luz…

Do you dream of exploring the high mountains? Accompanied by professional guides, set out to conquer the great peaks of the Pyrenees – the Vignemale, the Taillon or the Pic du Néouvielle – and enjoy a unique experience amidst spectacular scenery. In both summer and winter, mountaineering takes many forms: introductory courses, technical ascents, glacier treks or exploring the region’s iconic ridges.

When winter transforms the valleys, ice climbing becomes an exceptional playground for thrill-seekers. Suitable for beginners and experienced climbers alike, this activity allows you to discover the mountains from a different perspective, amidst silence, ice and sheer verticality.

Led by passionate professionals, these experiences offer an unforgettable immersion in the world of high-altitude mountaineering.

And why not indoors?

Climbing on natural rock is different from indoor climbing. You’ll be able to feel the rock warmed by the sun and enjoy the great outdoors whilst taking in the scenery. However, the weather isn’t always on your side, in which case you’re lucky enough to be able to climb indoors.

Gèdre is just a 15-minute drive from Luz.

350m² of climbing area: over 18 metres high, 15 climbing routes, numerous routes suitable for all levels and a ‘bouldering’ area (2.50 metres high x 6 metres long).

Access is on a self-guided basis for experienced climbers who are proficient in belaying techniques and rope handling (there is no on-site supervision); you must bring your own equipment (harnesses and descenders).
Only ropes and quickdraws are provided: there is no equipment hire at the centre, but it is possible to hire equipment from sports shops in Luz or Gavarnie.

Please note that powdered chalk is prohibited.

Happy climbing!
